18: Disabled Employees – Opportunities for Growth & Innovation
Supported by UniCredit Bank Austria
Demographic developments introduce businesses and society to new challenges: each year two percent of all employees in Austria acquire a disability. In total, we are talking about 1.2 million people (15% of the population) who as employees and consumers can experience significant discrimination from full participation in the economy. This is despite the extraordinary technological developments which have arisen to assist better integration. The question is not how business could integrate them for charitable reasons, but instead how society can unleash their full potential to create new opportunities for growth and innovation and to give disabled people equal opportunities in todays economy.
