Austrian universities and colleges increasingly have to bring in third-party funding from business actively in order to lighten the state’s load when it comes to higher education funding. Does this new form of additional funding cause dependency? Are the internal structures of higher education institutions adequately prepared for this new possibility of external influence? What role does university governance play in this context and how much transparency is necessary and/or bearable? The Association of Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences will attempt to get to the bottom of these questions in their Partner Session.
