The Throwaway Society

Daily, huge amounts of food are thrown away. They are an example for the extent of our “throwaway society”. Even clothes, toys, mobile phones or computers and similar products which used to have long lifespans, nowadays end up in the bin after a short period of use. Also less “tangible” products in our lives, like news, opinions and convictions often land terrifyingly quickly on the “rubbish heap of history”. Is this speed of life in our times irreversible? What can politics do, what can businesses do, and above all: what can each individual do to contribute to more awareness for food and other products?
