Dr. Stefano VENIER
Chief Executive Officer, Hera Group, Bologna
Stefano Venier was born in Udine in 1963. Initially, he worked for Electrolux on automated manufacturing then, from 1989 to 1996, he was employed by Eni - Enichem as strategic planner and then head of strategic projects. In 1996, he joined management consultancy firm A.T. Kearney, where he focused on the energy, utilities and telecoms areas. In 2002 he was named Vice President of Energy & Utilities. As a consultant, he worked on projects involving strategic planning, M&A, rationalization and optimization of operations and services as well as the launch of new businesses. From 2004 to 2008, he was Head of Business Development and Strategic Planning at the Hera Group. From July 2008 he became General Manager for Commercial Operations and Business Development. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors of Hera S.p.A. As a CEO of a major listed company, he supports a strategy which takes into account the SDGs set by the UN Agenda, with HERA joining the Global Compact and the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) organizations, promotes the transition from CSR to CSV (Creating Shared Value) and a growth inspired by the principles of a circular economy. As a result of this strategic approach, in 2017 Stefano developed a partnership with Dame Ellen MacArthur, which ended with the admission of the company in the CE100 program and in the CEO Water Mandate. In the same year, together with other CEOs of the main Italian listed companies, he signed the Manifesto Valore D, a program supported by the Italian government to promote gender equality, diversity and inclusion. In 2018 Stefano was appointed Member of the B.o.D of MIB Management School Trieste. He has a degree in computer science with a Master in energy management and, since he was appointed CEO of Hera Group, he writes articles for national and international newspapers and magazines about sustainable development, in compliance with the UN SDGs. |
