Martin Schwedler, aged 37, joined the Executive Board of RIAG in April 2002 from Star 21 Networks AG in Frankfurt, a telecommunications infrastructure company active in five European countries, where he held the position of managing director for corporate finance/ m&a. During his employment the company raised more than Euro 500 million in private equity from investors including Nortel, IBM, Accenture, GE Capital, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Texas Pacific Group, Providence and Euro 350 million in debt financings. | |
Prior to this engagement he was as a director at GE Capital in London responsible for private equity investments in German speaking Europe concentrating on telecoms infrastructure investments. Before that Mr Schwedler was a director in the media & telecoms corporate finance department of CIBC Oppenheimer in London, a Canadian- American Investment bank, advising on merger & acquisitions and privatisations as well as arranging large project financing transactions throughout Europe. Martin s first assignment in London was with the Fuji Bank as a manager in the acquisition finance department, arranging large European MBO/LBO financings. He holds a Master of Law from the University of Innsbruck. | |
