CANCELED – Late Night Talk: Islam, “Islamic State” and Violence

-
Liechtenstein-Hayek-Saal
Plenary /

In 2011, the “Arab Spring” brought the hope of change and political modernity to the Middle East. A few years later the so-called “Islamic State” is wreaking havoc in the region. Through terrorist attacks committed by its young European followers, this war is brought to the very heart of Europe. The talk aims to analyse the history and make-up of the “Islamic State” and to tackle the provocative question of how much Islam is actually contained within the “Islamic State”.
