Parallel systems in Europe? Conflict between European and the Sharia legal systems

-
Erwin-Schrödinger-Saal
Plenary /
German and English language

In this session, the basics of Sharia law will be compared with the European legal system, as Sharia law finds ways to be applied in Europe in the context of private international law. We will give attention to the way some Sharia courts have been established secretly but highly effectively in European countries, and what the broader legal implications might be.
