Vernissage: Let the Children Play. On the 25th Anniversary of the UN-Declaration of the Rights of the Child

The exhibition presents selected examples from two artistic projects: “Let the Children Play” and “The Children’s Play”. What they have in common is the ambition to create a living illustration of the right to play (Article 31 of the UN Convention ot the Rights of the Child). The local involvement of children and youth supporting organisations in the project ensures that the young public involved in the projects inherits a sustainable educational legacy. Working in parallel within an intercultural exchange, local and international artists’ and cultural organisations support the setting of the project, placing value on the cultural and educational purposes.

“Let the Children play” was realised at UNHCR Zaatari Refugee Camp, Jordan, 2014, in cooperation with UNHCR, SAVE the CHILDREN and supported by UNHCR, PLAY Foundation, CANON Austria, GERLACH Lawyers Vienna. “The Children’s Play South Africa” was realised in 2013 in cooperation with ITHUBA COLLEGE Wild Coast and supported by BANK AUSTRIA, CANON Austria, UNIQA SA Suisse, GERLACH Lawyers Vienna, SST Touristik-Vertrieb, Wallonie-Bruxelles International.
