Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Two Works in Progress
In cooperation with Galerie Schmidt, Reith
Christo will share images and commentary regarding his two works “Over The River” and “The Mastaba”, as well as the many previous projects that he and his wife Jeanne-Claude have completed around the world. In his project ‘Over The River’, Christo suspended 5.9 miles of silvery, luminous fabric panels high above the Arkansas River along a 42-mile stretch of the river between Salida and Canñon City in south-central Colorado. The Mastaba, a project for Abu Dhabi, was conceived in 1977. It will be the largest sculpture in the world, made from 410,000 multi-coloured barrels to form a mosaic of bright sparkling colours, echoing Islamic architecture.
