Alpbach Mindfulness Hike

Ernest C. H. Ng will share his personal journey in exploring the integration of mindfulness in the financial sector and the economy, and reflect on recent developments on mindfulness, sustainable finance, and responsible investing. In case of bad weather conditions, the session will take place at the “Hotel zur Post”. Any changes of the venue to “Hotel zur Post” will be marked in our online programme on the day before the hike.

Dr. Ernest C.H. NG

Honorary Assistant Professor, Centre of Buddhist Studies, The University of Hong Kong

 Dr. Ernest C. H. NG is an expert in the research of applying wisdom tradition into contemporary decision making. He is currently an
 Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) with core research interests in the intersection of spirituality and
 materiality, sustainable decision making and mindfulness. He is committed to the developments of the young generation and future
 leaders, serving as mentors for various universities. He has an interdisciplinary background, currently serving as the Chief Executive
 Officer of a Buddhist NGO and an academic but previously the Chief Investment Officer at an asset management company and the Vice President of Morgan Stanley Asia. With over 15 years of experience in the financial market, Dr. Ng has developed keen interests in the research and teaching on the integration of sustainable developments, wisdom tradition and market economy.
 Dr. Ng graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Chicago with Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Arts in International
 Relations. He received a Master of Buddhist Studies and Doctor of Philosophy from the CBS, HKU. He was a Sir Edward Youde Scholar and currently a Fellow at the European SPES Institute.
