We explore the challenges European societies are facing and the attendees will make suggestions on how transformative policies needed to tackle them can be set up as experiments. The case of basic income experiment in Finland will provide insight on the topic.

Chief Executive Officer, Demos Helsinki

 Juha Leppänen is the Chief Executive of Demos Helsinki, leading independent Nordic think tank. Juha is social scientist and previously worked as theme area lead at Demos Helsinki. At Demos, Juha has lead multiple strategy, foresight and innovation processes for both public and private institutions. Juha is an experienced speaker and advisor on strategy, policy and innovation and serves as a Royal Society of Arts Fellow.

Katri SARKIA

Senior Consultant, Demos Helsinki

 Katri Sarkia manages Governance Innovation projects focused on experimentation at Demos Helsinki, leading independent Nordic think tank. She has been involved in projects both in Finland and internationally. Prior to Demos Helsinki, Katri worked at Centre for International Mobility and Cooperation CIMO under the Ministry of Education and Culture. Previously she has also been working at UN Women Headquarters in New York, at British Council’s EU Office in Brussels and at Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in Helsinki.
