Security and liberty in the digital future

-
Elisabeth-Herz-Kremenak-Saal
Plenary /
in englischer Sprache

The digitisation of many spheres of life has brought with it rapid progress, meaning that the corresponding political and legal frameworks have to be adapted. How can the rule of law be implemented in the digital domain, e.g. to counter extremism? Do new possibilities of surveillance clash with our civil liberties? What does an integrated concept of digital security look like that balances our desire for security and our demand for liberty?
