Dr. Heinz FISCHER
Former Federal President, Republic of Austria; Co-Chair, Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, Vienna
| Dr. Heinz Fischer has had an extensive career as a senior representative and policy maker of the Republic of Austria. As Federal Minister of Science and Research and speaker of the Austrian National Assembly for more than 12 years, he was involved extensively in supporting and advancing the country´s scientific, social and cultural development. In 2004 he was elected Federal President of the Republic of Austria. After more than 40 Years in public office and two terms as Federal President he retired in 2016. He was proclaimed Chairman of the Council for the Commemorative Year 2018 by the Federal Government of Austria as well as Co-Chairman of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. |

| Ban Ki-moon has had an extensive career as a senior representative, policy maker and diplomat of the Republic of Korea. Following a stint as ambassador to Austria, Ban returned to Seoul as vice-minister of foreign affairs In 2003 he became foreign policy adviser to the new president, Roh Moo Hyun. As minister of foreign affairs and trade from 2004 to 2006, Ban played a key role in the six-party talks aimed at denuclearizing North Korea. The Harvard University Alumni was elected as United Nations Secretary General in 2006 and held this position form 2007 to 2016. He currently holds more than a dozen prestigious Chairmanships inter alia at the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens and at the Boao Forum for Asia. |
Dr. Karin KNEISSL
Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Vienna
| On 18 December 2017, Dr Karin Kneissl was appointed Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria. Karin Kneissl was born in 1965 in Vienna. She studied law and Arab studies at the University of Vienna. She also studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Amman, the University of Urbino and was a Fulbright scholar at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Karin Kneissl is also a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Paris. From 1990 to 1998 Karin Kneissl held a number of posts in the Austrian diplomatic service, including in the cabinet of then foreign minister Dr Alois Mock, in the Office of International Law and at the Austrian embassies in Paris and Madrid. Since 1998 Karin Kneissl has worked as an independent lecturer in the areas of international law, Middle Eastern history and the energy market at various universities, including the University of Vienna; the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna; the European Business School in the Rheingau, Germany; the International Centre for Human Sciences in Byblos, Lebanon; Saint-Joseph University in Beirut; as well as at the Austrian Armed Forces National Defence Academy, Vienna and Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria. Karin Kneissl has also worked since 1998 as an independent commentator and correspondent for numerous German and English-speaking print media, as well as for the Austrian state broadcaster ORF. She has authored a large number of books and publications. Karin Kneissl is co-founder and vice president of Whistleblowing Austria as well as vice president of the Society for Politico-Strategic Studies, STRATEG. She has worked in local politics in her home community of Seibersdorf and plays an active role in numerous non-profit organisations in Austria and Lebanon. Karin Kneissl speaks various foreign languages: Arabic, English, French, Hebrew (basic), Italian, Hungarian (basic) and Spanish. |

Director of Corporate Responsibility, RELX Group, London
| Dr. Márcia Balisciano leads corporate responsibility at RELX Group, a global provider of information and analytics focused on science and health, risk and business, legal and exhibitions, with more than 30,000 employees and offices in 40 countries. A member of the board of the United Nations Global Compact UK, and the UK National Crime Agency’s Child Rescue Alert Development Board, she is founding director of London museum and educational facility Benjamin Franklin House and previously was special advisor to the American Chamber of Commerce (UK). A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, she holds an International Relations MA from the University of Chicago, and an Economics PhD from the London School of Economics. She was named Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s 2007 Birthday Honours. |
Irina BOKOVA
Former Director General, UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Paris
| Irina Bokova is a Bulgarian politician and was the Director-General of UNESCO from 2009 to 2017. During her political and diplomatic career in Bulgaria, she served, among others, as deputy minister of foreign affairs and minister of foreign affairs ad interim under Prime Minister Zhan Videnov. She also served as Bulgaria's ambassador to France and to Monaco, and was Bulgaria's Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. She was both the first female and the first Southeastern European to head the agency. At UNESCO, Director-General Bokova advocates for gender equality, improved education and preventing funding for terrorism. |
Dr. LL.M. Martin LEDOLTER
Managing Director, ADA - Austrian Development Agency, Vienna
| Martin Ledolter (born on October 22, 1972) is a legal expert who has spent most of his professional life in politics, notably serving as a senior political advisor to the Vice Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of the Austrian Foreign Ministry in the areas of development cooperation, social and health affairs. Previous assignments included postings as Senior Political Officer in the Austrian Employees’ Association (ÖAAB), as Parliamentary Group Secretary of the Austrian People’s Party, and assignments with a number of law firms. Martin Ledolter regularly lectures in International Corporate Health Law for post-graduate students at the University of Applied Sciences IMC Krems, Austria, and is a regular guest lecturer at the Vietnam University of Commerce in Hanoi. In July 2013, Martin Ledolter was appointed as Managing Director of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation. In this position he is responsible for the implementation of all bilateral programmes and projects of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) in eleven partner countries in three continents. |
Michael SHELDRICK
Global Director of Policy and Advocacy, Global Poverty Project, New York
| Michael Sheldrick, originally from Perth Australia, at the age of 28 leads the Global Citizen’s global advocacy work from its New York office. In this role, Sheldrick currently coordinates The End of Polio campaign, which working with Rotary has helped mobilize more than $800 million in support of polio eradication efforts. In this role he works closely with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, WHO, and the World Bank. He led the successful 2011 End of Polio campaign that saw Commonwealth leaders announce $118 million in contributions to the GPEI at the 2011 Perth Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. |
Arrey OBENSON
Secretary-General, JCI - Junior Chamber International, St. Louis/MO
| Arrey Obenson serves as JCI Secretary General and comes to this position after serving as a JCI World Headquarters team member since February 2002. He has occupied various positions including Director for Africa and the Middle East, Executive Director for Growth and Development and Deputy Secretary General. Prior to joining the JCI World Headquarters team, Obenson served as an Associate in a legal firm in Cameroon. He is a Barrister of Law and is currently a member of the Cameroon Bar Association.
