14: Art as Enlightenment in Post-Enlightenment Times?
Are we still enlightened? Were we ever? Did the Enlightenment make promises it couldn t keep? What does it mean to be enlightened when there is such folly in the world? Do we inhabit a world of simultaneous enlightenment and counter-Enlightenment? What is the role of art given these social contradictions?
