in englischer SpracheThe idea of Democracy as a nursery of cooperation and an instrument for peace has seen better days; but what if we fought for it and rediscovered it? We can begin top down or bottom up: What could happen if European nation-states’ competences were channelled towards a working and capable European Union, while simultaneously directing efforts to promote local autonomy at a grassroots level? Would this be a critical step forward to strengthening and rediscovering democracy?
How can we encourage civic activism initiatives to increase political participation, without overburdening them? What is the impact we should be seeking? This seminar will elaborate on this and address different research approaches for participative policy-making.
