15: Ethics in Action: Economics and Sustainable Development
Despite impressive economic dynamism and poverty reduction over the past few decades, it becomes increasingly apparent that our current global economic paradigm features some fundamental design flaws. The lingering effects of the global financial crisis combined with rising inequality and the uneven benefits of globalization and technological change are creating great strains on societies. The seminar will examine the reorientation of the economy toward the pursuit of the common good, especially as defined by the contours of the Sustainable Development Goals.
