Actors need to be truthful, bold, playful and rigorous. They need to be able to listen to others and know when to compromise and when to stand firm; they need to empathise with the character they are playing no matter how villainous; they need to work as an ensemble and be tolerant towards and respectful of each other and the work. In these fully practical workshops, students at the end of their second year of actor training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London will share exercises and games that they have found particularly useful both on stage and in life.
