in englischer SpracheThe principle of equality is fundamental to modern constitutional law, as nearly every controversy can be framed through its prism. This seminar compares the approaches between the highest European and US legal institutions towards the interaction of the concept of equality with diversity, and its contact points at the crossroads between law, politics and society. The courts’ responses to disadvantages at the intersections of race and gender and to structural inequalities are of particular interest.
