09: The Experience of Inequality in Literature
In the globalised world of the late 20th and the 21st century, economic and social inequality is experienced worldwide. The challenges of inequality for society and politics are present in everyday media. However, they appear also in the focus of artistic means of literature. The critical dimension of inequality in literature will form the focus of the seminar which will take a comparative look at literary reports from different literary traditions. The ideas of post-colonial thinkers will be at the forefront of this seminar.
