Special Event 1: Cooperation in South East Europe – Programs, Projects, Initiatives
In accordance with the EU-Balkan countries Action Plan in Science and Technology and in addition to specific support activities in FP 6, Austria has developed programs, projects and initiatives to meet actual demands of the scientific community, to strengthen human resources in the countries concerned and to address the innovative potential in the region. The working group will discuss the role of science and research in the process of socio-economic stabilisation and growth in the region and present concrete measures that could enhance the role of the region in the European Knowledge Area.
