Special Event 3: Medical Schools in the International Context – Challenges and Opportunities
Based on the Austrian University Act 2002 and its implementation, the three Medical Faculties became independent Medical Universities with full legal capacity as of January 2004. Consequently, the three new Medical Universities are faced with a broad spectrum of opportunities as well as challenges.
The forum will provide a platform for the exchange of experiences after the first period of independence and will foster discussions towards the positioning of Medical Universities in the European Research and Higher Education Area as well as in the wider international context.
International speakers from a selected range of academic and industrial organisations will describe their specific experiences and expectations.
