13: A new Biedermeier in Europe?

-
Hauptschule
Breakout /
in deutscher Sprache

Whereas the process of European integration had made huge progress in the second half of the 20th century, we seem to be in a disintegrating phase right now. Many political areas show “Biedermeier” tendencies, also affecting energy policy. Germany s unilateralism in radically restructuring its power system without corresponding grid development has consequences for electrical supply systems in all of Europe. Will a “new Biedermeier” also affect energy policy? Are the days of seeking big solutions for the process of European integration now gone?
