in deutscher SpracheLooking at “monoculture in digitization” we will show the differences and similarities of European developments in digital innovation and will compare these realities to those in other countries. We will show the risks posed by monoculture in digitization and identify the opportunities that diversity in the development and application of digitization can have in different countries, cultures, sectors, environmental conditions, legal frameworks etc. for each business location. Finally, we will try to identify which trends might also be interesting for the development of digitization in Austria.

Dr. Henrietta EGERTH-STADLHUBER

| Henrietta Egerth studied commercial science at the University of Linz and then she worked for some years in Brussels. On her return to Vienna, she worked for the Federation of Austrian Industry before moving to the Ministry of Economics and Labour in 2000, where she was responsible for business promotion and research and development. Since 2004 Henrietta Egerth is General Manager of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). |

| Dr. Georg Krause has been working for several leading consulting companies in the field of IT and management consulting. He was part of the Austrian SAP management board, Partner at Deloitte Consulting and founder of the Austrian subsidiaries of Mummert+Partner and Horváth & Partners. Plaut and its mother company msg systems are leaders in innovative digital solutions and SAP consulting in many industries. Throughout the last years he was advising on digital political topics especially on the cooperation between IT industry and politics, impact of digitalisation on the labour market and how Austria can best manage the digital transformation and become a digital leader. He is holding lectures at the Danube University on these topics especially on "Conditions for Digital Transformation" and on "Innovation and Digitalisation". |

| Prof. Leitgeb hat sein Doktorat im Bereich Theoretischer Physik an der Technischen Universität Wien abgeschlossen, sowie ein Diplom in Physik von der University of Kent, Canterbury, UK erhalten. Er hat 2004 an der Medizinische Universität Wien im Bereich Medizinische Physik mit Schwerpunkt optischer Bildgebung habilitiert, und ging für drei Jahre als Gastprofessor an die ETH Lausanne, Schweiz. Er erhielt den ARVO/Alcon early career clinical scientist research award, sowie eine Auszeichnung der Firma Zeiss für seine Pionierarbeit im Bereich Optischer Kohärenztomographie. Er ist Fellow der Optical Society (OSA) sowie der International Society of Photonics (SPIE). Er hält mehrere Patente im Bereich der Medizinischen Bildgebung, und hat mit einem h-Index von 50 über 200 Publikationen und Buchbeiträge verfasst. Er leitet in Österreich den Fachbereich für Biophysik, Medizinische Phyik und Umweltphysik der Österreichischen Physikalischen Gesellschaft und ist Vorstand des CDL OPTRAMED. |

In seinem Buch "Der schwarze Tiger" erklärt der Ökonom, warum Europa die Wende in Afrika verpasst hat, warum Entwicklungshilfe beim Flüchtlingsproblem nicht hilft und was wir von Afrika lernen können.
