German and English languageFor 20 years scientists have been working on gene therapies. Some new compounds for rare diseases have been approved. The application of these new technologies is inspiring much hope! However, many questions remain. What further potential do these applications contain? Which diseases will be cured? Is this personalized medicine? Who will bear the development costs and how expensive will such costs be? Which national health systems can afford these high-price compounds? What are the regulatory topics that should be discussed? Finally, we will take a look at the ethical questions surrounding these developments.
