07: Industrial energy revolution: resilience through innovation?

-
Hauptschule
Breakout /
in englischer Sprache

The domestic energy-intensive production industry is facing a once-in-a-century challenge: cost pressure in international competition is massive, while the Paris Climate Objectives create a global framework for moving forward on the reduction of greenhouse gases and thus stepping up the pressure for innovating new industrial processes. Caught between continuous optimisation in the system, which finally can also render immobile, and risky decisions for large-scale investments, a balance need to be struck between efficiency and resilience towards an economic system that is sustainable and generates wealth.
