Secure PNT services are critical for all modern societies in the 21st century. Positioning-Navigation-Timing (PNT) currently depends primarily on the public US GPS signal, but also on other global or regional radio navigation services like EU’s Galileo. But given recent technological and political developments, how secure are these services against interference, jamming or spoofing? Air and sea navigation, supply-chain management, energy distribution, IT-networks, finance, Command & Control etc., depend on precise global location and time services. We will investigate the current PNT service options, natural and cyber threats against these PNT services and possible counter and protection measures for trusted location and timing.
