Ö1 Children’s University Alpbach – Science and Technology for Kids

The children’s programme of the Alpbach Technology Forum invites girls and boys to solve the questions of How?” and “Why?” in science and technology in an entertaining way. They get a chance to experience research hands-on and to ask questions, thus gaining access to scientific themes in an enticing, surprising and above all comprehensible way. These are experiences that stimulate children to think and explore further and will also be passed on to a broader audience together with the radio programme “Ö1 Children’s University”.
DNA – the source of diversity
Life is only successful because it is never perfect. The relentless striving for adaptation to constantly changing environments is the root cause for the diversity of creatures. The source of this adaptability can be found in our genes – the DNA.
A journey through earth’s languages
Do you know Chachi, Kiribati and Xhosa? They are languages. Where are they spoken? And how many languages are there in the first place and which language do you speak? In this workshop you will learn more about the diverse languages on earth.
Participants: Only children of participants of the Technology Symposium aged 7 to 12 years or children from the village of Alpbach with special invitations may be registered for this programme.
