Ö1 Children’s University Alpbach – Science and Technology for Kids
Curated with Young University Innsbruck
The children’s programme of the Alpbach Technology Forum invites girls and boys to solve the questions of How?” and “Why?” in science and technology in an entertaining way. They will get a chance to experience hands-on research and to ask questions, thus gaining access to scientific themes in an enticing, surprising and above all in a comprehensible way. These are experiences that will stimulate children to think and explore further and will also be passed on to a broader audience through the radio programme “Ö1 Children’s University”.
Limitless security and unrestricted freedom – do they fit together?
Liberty and security always have limits. In this interactive and playful workshop the children will experience what it means to set limits and, at the same time, to respect the limits of others. They will explore their own ideas of liberty and security and also take a look at current developments in society.
How can we use the internet safely? Opportunities and risks for kids in the web 2.0
The way children use new media (internet/smartphones) is constantly changing, thus creating a huge demand and need for supporting them in their smartphone and internet use. In this interactive workshop, Safer Internet expert Sebastian Holzknecht will inform the participants about the essential facts concerning the internet, data protection, apps and cyber mobbing. If you have a smartphone, please bring it along!
Participants: Only children of participants of the Technology Symposium aged 7 to 12 years or children from the village of Alpbach with special invitations may be registered for this programme. Please note: limited number of participants, registration necessary! Registration deadline: August 16, 2019.
