Ceremonial Opening of the European Forum Alpbach 2019

Elisabeth-Herz-Kremenak-Saal
Plenary /
German and English language

A brass band stands high up on the scaffolding of “Under Construction: Conditio Humana”. At this height, next to the sculptor Lois Anvidalfarei’s powerful creations, the band is in danger. Why doesn’t this system of steel pipes offer any security? But the pipes, played like an instrument, connect the art installation with the composition “Framework – Piece for brass band and scaffolding”. Sound engenders trust: the source of danger becomes a sound body, and all resonate together on a single wavelength.
